“Tom, I have no idea where this is going to go, but a yiayia gave me a donation for an icon of the Nativity for a side wall panel,” Fr. Chris told me in 1989. The Nativity gave inspiration to the community to fill God’s House with Byzantine icons replacing the dark, Western paintings: 7 more side wall panels, 2 icon screens including all the Saints of the Ionian Islands, The Creation, Christ Pantokrator and many many more murals as well as gilded Scriptural text surrounding the entire nave, followed.
